watched memoirs of a geisha yesterday with cihan, huiwen, ying2 and kim! young chiyo is so pretty! was really sad when she grew up. would say that i enjoyed the show thoroughly (despite the fact that my stomach was growling incessantly throughout the show..) but perhaps the show ended too abruptly, too perfectly. can't say that i was deeply affected by the show, maybe more affected by how beautiful zhang ziyi's eyes were!

somehow this line was stuck in my head after the show: "she paints her face to hide her face". hrmm, even without paint, people do hide their faces too. behind the red lips and white mask, traces of young chiyo disappeared. behind those masks that people wear, has their innocence vanished too?
