fireworks at hongkong disneyland
yay i finally uploaded the video that i took! quite blur at times because my hands were shaky and the camera was dying, but i still think it was quite well-taken! :) can hear me and my sis exclaiming "oh my god!" during the display. the whole thing lasted for 10 minutes but i only managed to capture so little of it.. i really wouldn't mind flying over just to watch the fireworks again!

back from hongkong
next we watched a 3d film in mickey's magic theatre. the 3d effects were done so flawlessly. there was this scene where the little mermaid flicked jewels right in front of your eyes. and my mum was so cute to stretch out her hands to reach for these non-existent gems! haha so funny, and i followed suit. it must have been quite a sight for an onlooker to see the audience behaving so senselessly. there was another scene where it feels like you're being thrust from nowhere along with aladdin and his magic carpet, roaming the skies and dropping down, falling.. it was even more thrilling than being on a rollercoaster! then it feels as though you're the only person in the theatre at whom donald duck was sprinkling water, yet logic tells you that everyone's actually feeling the same way. it was an amazing experience, watching these characters come to life, it's just too bad this feeling was ephemeral.
we didn't bother to queue up for the theme park rides at disneyland; too lazy to queue and the rides were the common sit-in-a-cup-and-turn kind. instead we took a ride on the train and toured the different parts of disneyland on the railway. i really felt like i could stay there in the train forever and watch the place transform with the passing of time.
shopping around for souvenirs was much fun too! though i bet my bro was super bored while my dajie and i fiddled around with the stuffed toys. we bought quite a lot of stuff from disneyland!
the highlight of the entire day there had to be the fireworks! they dimmed the lights of the entire place, till we could only see the sleeping beauty castle with its colourful lighting and sparkles. and when the music started playing, the colours that lit up the night sky were enough to take one's breath away. it's a pity my camera died halfway (never charge long enough so no battery!) while i took a video of the fireworks. i think i'll never forget what a spectacular sight it was, as the four of us beheld the night sky at disneyland - certainly the happiest place in the world.
on our flight back, during the last few minutes of touching down, dajie was telling me that to her, landing is always the best moment. indeed, be it reaching a foreign destination or returning to home sweet home, the mixed feeling of excitement and perhaps relief is always the best.
my dad gave us the best surprise by picking us up from the airport even after my mum told him we would cab home! he had to rush from tuas to get to changi, and he even had to reach much earlier than the stipulated time to make sure he could receive us. imagine how touched we all were, especially my mum. i love my family :)
before this trip to hongkong, there was asean bridge competition at novotel hotel in clarke quay. congrats to GG for getting second for the youth team category! my team didn't win anything, but we all had fun, especially with random partnership towards the end.
on a random note, my 3 cousins are so cute. while we were halfway through playing poker, the youngest one suddenly exclaimed, "eh! what are we playing now? pokey?" oh my goodness. pokey. hahaha.
